The Truth About Courage

Read in German

What Would You Do If You Weren’t Afraid?

This question has been with me for years – like an echo that keeps reverberating inside me.
Sometimes loud.
Sometimes quiet, barely audible.
But it’s there.
And it challenges me.

Many people believe that courage means having no fear.
But that’s not true.
Courage is not the absence of fear.
Courage is feeling the fear – and moving forward anyway.

Courage means standing up to what’s comfortable.
Standing up to what others consider “normal.”
Courage is saying no, even when everyone expects a yes.
Or saying yes – even when no one understands.

Courage is staying true to yourself.
Even when it’s uncomfortable.
Even when you’re standing alone.

Courage is walking new paths without knowing where they lead.
Not because you’re certain – but because you know:
Things can’t stay the way they are.

I believe courage always begins the moment we stop hiding.
When we stop merely functioning – and start truly living.

Maybe courage isn’t something big.
Maybe courage is simply that one moment
when you take a deep breath,
reach out to yourself,
and say:
“I’m doing this. For me.”
